GREG BROWN

lead pastor

Pastor Greg was born in St. Louis, Missouri, and moved to the Richmond area when he was eight years old. After graduating with a degree in business and technology and a minor in theology, he returned to Richmond, married his best friend, Ashley, and began working as a web engineer. Though he had always been drawn to theology and loved studying Scripture, pastoral ministry was not part of his plan.

In 2014, Pastor Greg was called into ministry and served as a worship and executive pastor, where he spent valuable time learning, growing, and being shaped as a pastor, leader, and teacher. In 2020, Pastor Greg and Ashley stepped out in faith to plant Mosaic Church in their own backyard of Mechanicsville, beginning with a small group of families gathered in their living room.

Pastor Greg serves as Mosaic’s lead pastor while also working as a senior software engineer. Rather than separating him from ministry, this co-vocational rhythm strengthens the way he leads, keeping him closely connected to the real-life rhythms, pressures, and questions people carry into church each week. His engineer’s mind, natural curiosity, and love for thoughtful details often shape the way he teaches, helping people see how every part of Scripture fits together and points to Christ.

He is passionate about teaching the Bible clearly and faithfully, helping people think deeply, and showing how the gospel truly changes everything. More than anything, Pastor Greg desires to see people formed by sound theology, rooted in Scripture, and living with gospel-centered conviction.
